Proposed H.B. No. 5179 REP. HOVEY, 112th DIST. ‘AN ACT CONCERNING ACCESS TO THE INTERACTIVE VOICE RESPONSE SYSTEM OF THE SPECIAL LICENSING AND FIREARMS UNIT OF THE DIVISION OF STATE POLICE’, to permit firearm dealers seeking sale authorization numbers greater access to the Interactive Voice Response system of the Special Licensing and Firearms Unit of the Division of State Police.

Proposed H.B. No. 5176 REP. SAMPSON, 80th DIST. ‘AN ACT CONCERNING THE APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR A TEMPORARY STATE PERMIT TO CARRY A PISTOL OR REVOLVER’, to specify uniform criteria for an application for a temporary state permit to carry a pistol or revolver.

Proposed S.B. No. 122 SEN. MEYER, 12th DIST. ‘AN ACT CONCERNING RESTRICTIONS ON GUN USE.’, To reduce the use of guns for criminal purposes.

NOTE: this one is a special kind of stupid. It would outlaw any gun, magazine, or clip that holds more then one round of ammunition.

 

Proposed S.B. No. 124 SEN. GARY D. LEBEAU, 3RD DIST. & SEN JOHN MCKINNEY, 28TH DIST. ‘AN ACT BANNING LARGE CAPACITY AMMUNITION MAGAZINES.
, To prohibit the possession of certain ammunition feeding devices that accept more than ten rounds.

Proposed H.B. No. 5165 REP. SAMPSON, 80th DIST. ‘AN ACT CONCERNING THE DEFENSE OF A PERSON’S HOME, MOTOR VEHICLE OR BUSINESS.’, To establish a rebuttable presumption in a self-defense claim that, when a person believes it necessary to use deadly force to repel an intruder, such belief is a reasonable belief.
